Family Vacation Day 4

On the road to Washington D.C.
At a rest stop in Maryland, our 6th state of the trip.

Along the way we took time to visit the Antietam Civil War Battlefield in Maryland.

We took the self guided tour. Grady was navigator.
The final stop on the tour was the Antietem National Cemetery in Sharpsburg. Antietem was the bloodiest one-day battle of the civil war. Of the 100,000 soldiers that fought their 23,000 were killed, wounded or missing.

Next time we take the hike Grady is walking!
Now Grady and I can say we hiked the trail just like Hillary had, even though we only hiked for 10 minutes.
Apparently George Washington was either a big fan of Milk bottles or Bee hives?

We made it to Arlington, VA. State #7.
This is the home of my friend from high school. Geno Van Dyck and I have known each other since grade school days.
Elinor and Annie Van Dyck. Annie is 2 months younger than Grady. I think he is smitten already.
Tomorrow we are off to see D.C. and tour Barrack's house.
