April Showers Bring...
What a nice weekend to stay home. Both sets of Grandparents stopped by to visit and to see their Grandson. Grandma Joan and Barb each got their early Mother's Day Gifts too.
Saturday started out with a nice walk early before the rains came. And then rain it did! At one point Brooks started barking and low and behold there in our back yard were a couple of ducks or a duck couple however you prefer.
The Mallards must have mistook our yard for a lake with all the rain we received.
Speaking of Mallards, the 2009 season is just over a month away.
If ducks could talk I bet it would have sounded like..."I thought you said you knew where the lake was? Why can't men stop and ask for directions? Oh no, nope, we just have to walk until we find it."
Since it was raining we took a family trip to the Sun Prairie Athletic Club where Grady hung out in the daycare and we played raquetball.
After the gym we checked out the Packers draft and I will give it an A. (Their 2nd, 1st Round pick is on the right)
When Dad and Grady weren't watching the draft and redecorating Grady's room, there was plenty of Brewer baseball to watch. Even though their 4 game win streak ended today. Grady was still all smiles.

Friday Night Fish Fry and a TOOTH!
Summer arrived Friday with temps in the 80's. Last night we went out for fish with the Walz family and John. After dinner we stopped by a Goodbye Party for Tanya Ladow.
Karen just loved Grady's little cheeks.
Grady enjoyed hanging out with Hunter and Abby.
Duck? I thought we were going out for fish?
Hillary, Abby and Hunter enjoy drinks before dinner.
While we were at dinner, Karen asked if Grady had any teeth yet. We hadn't seen any just yet. I put my finger in his mouth and felt his gums and found......A TOOTH! There is a small white ridge on his bottom gums. Grady says, "Thank you to Auntie Karen for helping my parents find my first tooth!"
And while we're on the topic of fish and teeth, Grady has started eating Gerber 1st Foods. So far, he's had squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. He's like them all and had no allergic reactions. Last month, we started rice, oatmeal, and barley baby cereals. Grady is quite the eater too.

South From Alaska
We had a couple of visitors on Friday night. Erin and her daughter Matia stopped in Friday night. They are in Madison for a wedding. Check back later for more info on the wedding. Erin and Hillary went to UW's school of education together. Matia is 3 1/2 months old and possibly the sweetest kid ever.
Matia brought Grady a book to read.

Brooks is always ready for dinner.
Matia and Grady playing in his room.

Matia took this picture. I think she is ready for her own blog, again just saying.
Even though she would rather have played with princesses, Matia got to play with the train set.
I am pretty sure she was loving driving the trains. Might be a good 4th birthday gift...just saying.
Matia also took time to teach Ryan how to dance. Toe, Toe, Drag, Shuffle, Stomp, Clap, Clap...

Father and Son
This past weekend brought back some memories. I can remember my Easter basket in addition to candy usually contained a couple packs of baseball cards. So I made sure to pick up some cards for Grady. I also made sure to open them for him. For those readers who are curious as to what he got; Mat Gamel, Evan Longoria and Nick Adenhart's Rookie Cards and a Ryan Braun. They will all be waiting safely for him when he gets older.
I was also reminded of much I hated heights and still do for that matter.
But tonight while holding Grady I remembered how Dad would come home from work and we would help him pull his boots off.
So Dad if you read this. Thank Mom for the cards, and thanks for not making me go up in the bucket. Thanks for showing me how to properly remove work boots. Looking down the road I think I will try a different method of teaching Grady how to ride a bike. However, I do look forward to him holding the flashlight for me while working on some yet to be determined project.

Easter Weekend
It was another busy weekend for the Lobenstein family. Grady was a pretty happy kid for most of the weekend.
Grady gets in the Easter Egg hunting spirit. Mary Schott gives him a lift.
Aunt Ashley, Grady, EB, and Uncle Trevor
Grandma Barb with Grady and Hillary.

After a busy afternoon, Grady and mommy take a rest.
Then it was off to Dodgeville for more family Easter activities.
Uncle Rick, Grady, Grandpa Gary, Aunt Michelle, Cousing Luke, Grandma Joan, Mom and Dad.
Rick and Luke get busy looking for Easter treasure.
Grady was all ready for his basket. Mom and Dad got the boys baseball gloves.
Grandpa and Luke try on his new glove. Murphy and Bailey get ready to play fetch.
After the Easter festivities slowed down. We took the boys outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.
Michelle gives Luke a ride on Grandpa's golf cart.
Mommy, Grady and Daddy are all ready to go for a nice Sunday drive.
Grady and Mommy are ready for the sun.
I decided to take the boys truck for a spin.
Grady, "Serioulsy I think you just hit something!" Luke, "Shut up, don't tell Grandpa he will kill us!"
"How does my hair look?"
