Weekend Moments

The following pictures are randoms from the weekend...
Grady loves this tractors and here he was giving Brooks chew toy a ride. Brooks was waiting patiently for Grady to throw it for him.
Dad and Grady. Mom picked out the shirt for Grady.
Aunt Ashley playing with Grady at the Engagement Party. A neat side note: Grady's other Aunt works in the building out the window, the Monona Terrace.
Guess what Grady found? Yep, more stairs to climb.
The triumphant return of Loberace Master Pianist.
Loberace plays for his biggest fan.
Suddenly he was too cool for his own parents.
Brooks and Grady watching rabbits running in the front yard.
Effort #1 of a family photo. Grady was ready for a nap at this point.

Heather and Matt's Engagement Party

Heather and Matt created an adorable Save-the-Date card by using an amusing graphic that represents the two of them. The squirrel (Matt) says, "I like you." The fairy (Heather) replies, "Oh brother."
The happy and color-coordinated couple.
Julie Goodman toasts Heather and Matt.
The Birthdays Toast...
Congratulations Heather and Matt!

Grady Visits Santa

Now that Grady is a whole year old, he (we) gets the privledge of facing forward.
He sure looks happy to be going to visit Santa.
Hillary introduces Grady to Santa.
Grady is not quite ready to sit on Old St. Nick's lap quite yet.
Even if Dad holds him, he just was not too sure about old Kris Kringle.

This about sums it up.

Busy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was the first chance in awhile for Grady to visit many of his relatives and family friends. Unfortunately, Grady was coming off multiple shots the day before and was not too happy to be out and about. For future reference, we are going to wait on the shots until after a major traveling holiday. We also wanted to thank everyone for all of Grady and Hillary's birthday gifts and wishes. Thanks from Grady and Hillary!
Turkey day was underway in Poynette at my cousin Amy and her husband Russ's house. In this picture is their daughter Kaila, son Tyler, Grady, my cousin Chloe and Hillary.
This is Pat's puppy, Abby. Grady enjoyed playing with her. She was a very mellow puppy.
Our next stop was Ashley and Trevor's house on the west side of Madison. We celebrated with the Phelps, Wagner, and Schott families. It was also a mini-celebration of Grandpa Randy's birthday. Barb's birthday is 11/20, Grady 11/24, Hillary 11/26 and Randy 11/30.
Grady was shy all day. However, he really enjoyed climbing the steps. Or maybe he was just trying to sneak upstairs to look for presents?

Great Expectations

We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting a baby on June 7th! I will enter my second trimester next Monday, November 30th. We will find out the baby's gender; our ultrasound is set for January 20th. We are very excited that Grady and Brooks will be big brothers to a new baby!

I have been feeling well so far. Mild nausea, very little morning sickness, and plenty of exhaustion have been the norm. My usual bedtime is 8:30 pm. I feel the same as during my pregnancy with Grady. I'm starting to get a little baby belly already. The maternity clothes will be out in full force in a few weeks.

We've been waiting since early October to spill our big news, and we're excited to finally be able to share it will all of you. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Happy Birthday Hillary

Hillary's Birthday is on 11/26 (Thanksgiving) so I took her out for dinner tonight to her favorite restaurant, L Etoile on the Capitol Square.
Happy Birthday to you!
A special thank you to Hillary's parents for coming over and watching Grady.
Hillary is such a big fan of the restaurant and the fact that I had them make a special menu...she asked our waiter to have the Chef autograph it.

Birthday Cake

Tonight it was time for cake!
Grady was ready for the singing to be over and for the cake to be served.
Grady's pal Caleb came over to share in the fun.
The best way to eat cake is by the handful.
Sometimes one handful isn't enough.
The classic face full of cake photo.
Grady makes sure he eats every last crumb.
After cake it was time to play in Grady's new fort.
Caleb got the hang of it pretty quick.

Happy Birthday Son

Today is Grady's First Birthday. So we started the day by opening a couple of gifts.
Grady didn't quite understand the concept of unwrapping at first.
Once we got the first one open...
and took a couple more pictures,
he picked up the concept and was off and ripping.
Trucks and Tractors are by far his favorite toys. (Thank you Cousin Jackson and Tracy) He loves wheels!
Once he got the paper off he would not let the box out of his sight.
Brooks wanted to check out the new toy. Grady was not so pleased with this.
For future reference, get all the pictures you can in before the gifts are opened. He just didn't want to sit for pictures while his new tractor sat unprotected.

I think he heard us talking about getting a cake for his birthday.

Deer Hunting Season 2009

Saturday morning the view from my hunting blind.
It was foggy for most of the morning.
At 1:30pm I saw my first and only deer of opening deer. It was in the tall grass near the woods and was running from right to left. It was about a 50 yard shot.
Another pic from earlier in the day Saturday. (On Sunday I saw my 2nd and 3rd deer of the weekend for a total of 3 all weekend. This shot was again 50 yards. It was standing walking near the large tree on the right side of the picture.)
I call this photo, Moss on a Stump.
Back to day 2. Getting ready to drive the "40".
All of these trees in this group had been used for a rub.
Mid-day Sunday someone came in and registered this buck in Plain.

After two days of hunting our group took 9 deer (8 doe and 1 buck). If you are scoring along at home. The Gerber's 4. The Lobenstein's 2. My dad has to pick it up I can't carry us every season.
I am hoping to get back out again this coming weekend. I am still looking for that nice (first) buck.
