Happy Retirement Grandpa Randy

A Gathering to Celebrate Grandpa Randy's Retirement was held Sunday at Hiway Harry's in Johnson Creek.
A quiz about Randy was part of the afternoon's entertainment. Did you know a dislocated elbow was the end of Randy's HS Football Career and not the Forward Pass? And Randy's job in college was Bus Driver not Exotic Dancer like Al guessed.
Grady helped his Grandpa open gifts like this gold wrist watch, or is it a gold waist watch?
Keith Wagner presented Randy with some unique gifts like this gold walking staff with a horn.
When Randy retires he is all set to go into the medical field.
Docker R. Phelps BS M.D.
No party is complete without cake! Where there is cake, there is Audra.
One of Grandpa's gifts was this puzzle to keep him busy. Grady made sure all the pieces were there.
Congratulations Randy and enjoy your retirement!
Love Audra, Grady, Hillary and Ryan.

Hockey Night with Aunts and Uncles

Saturday Night was "Fill the Bowl" night at the Kohl Center. UW hosted Bemidji State.
UW Stars
Tickets were only a dollar and proceeds were donated to Second Harvest Foodbank.
The Badgers have won 4 national championships and are currently ranked #1 this season.
Hillary and Audra are ready to root for the Badgers.
Aunt Ashley and Uncle Trevor joined Grady and us for the game.
Cousin Luke, Uncle Rick and Aunt Michelle rounded out Aunt and Uncle Night.
Audra was very happy Luke joined us. She also got a kick out of Aunt Michelle's winks.

Lets Go Red
Grady was not a fan of sharing his super licorice rope with the Phelps Sisters.
Audra was content with popcorn and lots of it.
Luke has an idea!
When rooting for the Badgers, dress like a Badger fan!
Not to be outdone, Grady also gets in superfan mode with a little extra help from his Aunt.
The #1 Ranked Badgers won 1-0.
UW set a record for highest attendance (12,402) for a Women's NCAA Hockey game.

Ice Fishing

On Saturday Grady and I met Uncle Rick, Cousin Luke and their friends Ace and Owen for some ice fishing.
It was Grady's first time ice fishing.
He did pretty good by staying seated on his bucket for a solid 10-20 minutes without moving.
Owen and his Dad Ace giving it a go.
Rick and Luke take a crack.
Luke giving me his classic goof ball smile.
Keeping his eyes on the prize!
Unfortunately the lack of fish within 20 minutes and cold wind didn't keep Grady interested for long. But the boys didn't enjoy running around on the ice and snow.

Dolls and Trains

Audra has been getting into dolls more lately. Although she still likes her brother's trucks and trains. One day last I watched her as she repeatedly told her doll no. "No, no, no Night Night" Then she put the doll in her brother's bed. I asked her if she was putting the doll to bed and she said yes. I also asked her if the doll didn't want to take a nap and she replied with a nod and smile. Then a couple minutes later I heard her get the doll and say "All done".
Audra is torn between playing house and playing trains with Grady.
Grady is demonstrating his mad face. I asked him what he feels like when Audra plays with his trains without asking him first.
Locking Audra's cottage door. Grady told her he was locking her in I assume to prevent any dolls on the train tracks.
Eventually the two peacefully played trains together. Unfortunately this ended as the train garage only had room for one train.
Audra's favorite activity is to brush her teeth. She could spend hours just "brushing".
Brooks is also on Audra's favorite things to do. She loves to play with him and I am sure this spring will be more than willing to take him on walks.
Audra's favorite doll shares her blue eyes.
Grady being Grady!
