Family Vacation Day 2

On Monday, we spent the day in and around Pittsburgh, PA. Grady gets a smooch from Mommy.
This is the view of Downtown Pittsburgh from atop Mt. Washington.
Grady and Hillary pose in front of the home Hillary and her family lived in until she was 3. McMurray, PA is about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh.
Back in Pittsburgh, we visited the Carnegie Science Center.
At first, it seemed all Grady would care about were the wheels on his stroller.
We would also find a couple of his favorite things. Balls and Water!
We worked on his throwing and sharing.
In one room, there was a model train exhibit that was huge. Look for more on this when we post the video.
More water and more balls. Grady and Hillary check out another exhibit.
This might look familiar. The Madison Children's Museum has the same exhibit.
Grady found yet another exhibit with balls.
One floor was full of Robots. I introduced Grady to an old pal. This reminded me that I can't wait until he is old enough to watch Star Wars for the first time.
Hillary and Grady meet another long time pal.
Loberace got a chance to tickle the ivories.
We had a lot fun, and we think he did too!

It was a short walk along the river to our next event of the day...

A Brewer game at PNC Park vs. the Pirates.

Our seats were about 20 rows behind home plate. As you can see, there aren't a lot of fans going to Pirates games. This is sad since it is such a beautiful ballpark.

One of the few Brewer highlights, a Prince Fielder homer!

Looking back at the park on our walk back to the car. It was on to West Virginia for our next stop...

Family Vacation Day 1

Sunday morning Grady said goodbye to Brooks. Brooks does look a little melancholy in the picture. Brooks is staying at Grandma and Grandpa Lobenstein's house.
Grady and the Very Hungry Caterpillar snooze on the road to Pittsburgh.
Mommy would drive the first 4 hrs. Then Daddy would drive 5 more before Mommy finished the last hour.
On our last stop, Grady got to "sit" shotgun while Mommy got us a treat.

Guarding the cooler sure makes a guy hungry.
Grady shows off his Doc Holiday mustache while his shadow shows off his curls.
Finally after 5 states we are done driving, and it is time to play.
Uh oh, tickle torture!
Guess what? When I get up, we get to go see where Mommy lived when she was my age, and then we get to see some of Pittsburgh's museums. Oh, and then we get to go see the Brewers play the Pirates, followed by a short drive to see Mommy's friends who live in Morgantown, West Virginia. Stay Tuned for more...

Dinner with the Boys

Caleb getting ready to toss back a cold one.
Dinner almost got a little rough when Phil would not share his crayons with Caleb.
Grady shares a joke with Emily.
"...get it?"
That was a good one!
Seriously? I could make money doing this.

Hello Baby Jacey

Jacey Heinzemann Born 8-1-09
Jacey looking up at Hillary
Uh oh, someone is enjoying this way too much!!!
Grady didn't seem too interested in the baby. However, he was having a blast with Marley.
Grady kept getting the toy full of squash and then holding it out for Marley to lick, followed by plenty of giggles!
Proud Papa Tyler and Jacey
Mommy Patty and Grady pose for a picture.
Congrats to the Heinzemann Family!

Guys Weekend

THURSDAY
Grady, I got some good news for you! Mom is out of town for the weekend.
Oh Crap!

FRIDAY
Time to teach you how to play poker!
Hey! No fair that is my favorite hat!

SATURDAY
We spent some time out in the country with Grandpa and Grandma and their dogs.

SUNDAY
First we worked on the grass by planting some grass seed. Then we fixed the mailbox. Next it was off to Menards and lunch at BW3. Followed by a stop at the Prairie Athletic Club's Waterpark.
After getting home from the waterpark we filled up our own pool.
Splashfest II
Finally we made sure we were ready for Packer season. With camp opening Saturday and the Brewers sucking it up lately we figured now was the time.

We missed you Mommy.

Humming Bird Hunting

Saturday Grady, Brooks and I went out to Dodgeville to visit my parents. On the their back porch is a Humming Bird feeder. Have you ever tried to take a picture of a Humming Bird?
Grandma Lobe and Grady enjoying the porch swing. The red bird feeder was the bait.
Here comes the first bird. (Actually the feeder was like a mini-airport and this was first decent set of pictures I was able to get)
Awaiting clearance from the tower to land.
On final approach.
We have a landing.
