Our Weekend

Grady shows off his Lil' Stormy Cromer from our Mercer neighbors, Gene and Bonnie.

We were able to stop in Stevens Point today and visit Aunt Dorothy and her grandson Jake. And check out Dorothy's newly painted walls. We like the color!

Jake is a natural with babies. He has a little brother, Luke, who is four years old. Grady loved playing with Jake!

Aunt Dorothy has some pretty impressive baby talking skills. We give her an A+ in baby talk. Grady giggled, laughed, and cooed when Aunt Dorothy was talking to him. I love this little picture because he's just so happy and you can see the adorable baby fat roll in his chubby thigh.

Aunt Dorothy and Grady talking it up! Isn't he just the cutest?! And thank you to Aunt Dorothy for having us stop by this afternoon. We're so glad that Grady was able to meet you today!

A Weekend in Mercer

Friday night we drove up to Big Bear Lodge, Hillary's parents lake home in Mercer. It is the annual spring clean up weekend. The dock was put in, we spread mulch, and when we weren't working we were able to get a nap or two in.
Grady, Hillary, Ashley, Trevor, Randy and Barb at The Pines.
Check out Trevor's bib!
Grandma Barb giving Grady his supper. He said next time he wants spaetzel and red cabbage.
Grady got bored. With the help of Aunt Ashley, he went racing.
After dinner, we went for a drive around the lake. This is a neighbor's driveway!
Some other Northwoods residents.

April Showers Bring...

What a nice weekend to stay home. Both sets of Grandparents stopped by to visit and to see their Grandson. Grandma Joan and Barb each got their early Mother's Day Gifts too.
Saturday started out with a nice walk early before the rains came. And then rain it did! At one point Brooks started barking and low and behold there in our back yard were a couple of ducks or a duck couple however you prefer.

The Mallards must have mistook our yard for a lake with all the rain we received.

Speaking of Mallards, the 2009 season is just over a month away.

If ducks could talk I bet it would have sounded like..."I thought you said you knew where the lake was? Why can't men stop and ask for directions? Oh no, nope, we just have to walk until we find it."

Since it was raining we took a family trip to the Sun Prairie Athletic Club where Grady hung out in the daycare and we played raquetball.
After the gym we checked out the Packers draft and I will give it an A. (Their 2nd, 1st Round pick is on the right)

Grady got a new toy. If he runs/jumps fast enough he is able to travel in time.
He is getting a tad tired, it takes a lot of formula, rice cereal and squash to get up to 1.21 jiggawatts.
When Dad and Grady weren't watching the draft and redecorating Grady's room, there was plenty of Brewer baseball to watch. Even though their 4 game win streak ended today. Grady was still all smiles.

We are both looking forward to his first official Brewer game next month.

His new shirt fits just right.

Friday Night Fish Fry and a TOOTH!

Summer arrived Friday with temps in the 80's. Last night we went out for fish with the Walz family and John. After dinner we stopped by a Goodbye Party for Tanya Ladow.

Grady enjoyed hanging out with Hunter and Abby.
Duck? I thought we were going out for fish?
Hillary, Abby and Hunter enjoy drinks before dinner.
Karen just loved Grady's little cheeks.
While we were at dinner, Karen asked if Grady had any teeth yet. We hadn't seen any just yet. I put my finger in his mouth and felt his gums and found......A TOOTH! There is a small white ridge on his bottom gums. Grady says, "Thank you to Auntie Karen for helping my parents find my first tooth!"
And while we're on the topic of fish and teeth, Grady has started eating Gerber 1st Foods. So far, he's had squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. He's like them all and had no allergic reactions. Last month, we started rice, oatmeal, and barley baby cereals. Grady is quite the eater too.

Keeping with the Hair Theme

Who does Grady look like? We have heard he looks like both of us. But I am starting to wonder if Hillary is a bigger fan of Seinfeld re-runs or the music of Lyle Lovette.
